Customer is a leading software solution provider for banking & financial domain in The UK. Some of the leading banks of England and Scotland are it’s customers and custom VAS applications for banks are being developed and deployed for their business class end users.
As a part of the Domain Independent Test Services, we worked for two bank’s VAS Applications UAT and Test Automation for the solution. The banking applications were developed and deployed by a Top Tier IT Services provider of India, and we were empanelled as a test service provider for UAT. The test requirements included a wide variety of areas including functional test, regression test, performance test, stress test, security tests. Test Automation was done using Selenium and Appium.
Primary challenges of any banking application testing are security & performance. The VAS applications for the two banks had the scope to verify the functionalities during the UAT phase, but security and performance tests are part of the deliverables. Verifying the banking applications with all use cases and applying different types of security vulnerability use cases are always challenging.
Based on the Requirement Traceability Matrix, quality assurance team brought up the test strategy, functional test plans, security test plans, performance test plans and over all UAT Strategy. Test Automation was part of the test solution & performed for both the bank VAS products. Usage of 3rd party tools done for security as well as performance tests.
This is a proprietary confidential banking application test project where two leading banks of The UK and Scotland were deploying a VAS application into their application intended for their business customers. The VAS applications included multiple packages and kits for small and medium sized businesses, and the project scope required to conduct functional tests, security, performance tests and the entire phase of UAT towards successful production.
OdiTek, with more than 15+ years of test automation & domain independent testing expertise successfully collaborated with the customer from the requirements phase to post-production phase. This project required to adopt to the processes defined by the customers and use of their templates, artifacts and procedures was a learning one for the team as well.
Banking & Finance
A very successful UAT and production phase where test coverage was cent percent covering entire gamut of tests from functional, security to performance. Several high priority defects were reported, corrections were verified. The project scope was met, automation strategy planned for the VAS applications were achieved and overall customer was very happy with the products going LIVE on time.

HIGH LEVEL ARCHITECTURE
With a percent test coverage and automation coverage of more than 60% to start with, UAT phase was hugely successful. Software deployment to production was achieved on time, and test reports, defects reporting were highly appreciated by the customer. Automation coverage and tests were very impressive and something that OdiTek team were proud of from the project.
